Definition:
Bitumen also called asphalt or tar, black or brown in colour. It is derived from vacuum distillation of crude.
It is non-crystalline solid or viscous material with adhesive properties.

Bitumen is marketed in wide range of grade ranging from soft to hard.

Uses:

  • Widely used in road construction industry.
  • Used as a raw material in the manufacture of waterproofing products.
  • Used in coatings and sealants manufacturing industry.
  • Used in special application like printing inks, lubricants, electric cable etc.

  • Bitumen having excellent adhesive and bonding properties with aggregate/soil, concrete and metal surfaces.
  • Bitumen having excellent waterproofing properties.
  • Bitumen having resistance to mild acids and alkalis.
